The short version
- These terms apply when you use Wattle Bot, add it to a server or use its dashboard. Discord's own terms apply too.
- Server owners and the people they put in charge decide how Wattle Bot is set up in their server, and are responsible for those settings.
- Don't use Wattle Bot to abuse, spam or harass anyone, or to get around its limits. We can block servers and people who do.
- Wattle Bot has a free plan. We work to keep it running but don't promise it will always be available.
- If you're a consumer, you keep every right that consumer law gives you.
This summary is here to help you find your way. The full text below is what applies.
1.About these terms
These Terms of Service (“terms”) are an agreement between you and Company name TBC: Registered company name to be confirmed (ABN TBC: ABN to be confirmed), trading as Wattle Cloud (“Wattle Cloud”, “we”, “us” or “our”).
They apply when you use Wattle Bot (the Discord app called Wattle Bot), add it to a server or to your account, use its dashboard, or visit this website (together, the “service”). By using the service, you agree to them.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information, and forms part of these terms.
If you use the service for an organisation or a community, you confirm that you're allowed to accept these terms for it.
Some features may be labelled early access or beta. They may change, have limits or stop.
2.Who can use Wattle Bot
- You must meet Discord's minimum age in your country, and you must follow Discord's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines. Wattle Bot works inside Discord, so those apply whenever you use it.
- You can't use the service if we've blocked you from it, or if you're subject to sanctions under Australian, UK or other applicable law.
3.Using Wattle Bot in your server
If you add Wattle Bot to a server, or set it up in the dashboard, you're responsible for how it's set up there. That includes the people you let change its settings, the messages it sends on your behalf, and the actions it takes because of your settings, such as auto-mod removing messages or giving and taking roles.
Moderation decisions in your server are yours and your team's. Wattle Bot carries out the actions your moderators and your settings ask for, and we're not responsible for those decisions.
Some features read messages or store information about your members, such as logging, auto-mod, levels and tickets. If you turn them on, let your members know, for example in your rules channel. Our Privacy Policy describes what each feature keeps.
You can remove Wattle Bot from your server at any time. What happens to your server's data then is explained in the Privacy Policy.
4.Acceptable use
Use Wattle Bot only for lawful purposes and as Discord allows. Don't use it, or try to use it, to:
- harass, threaten, bully or abuse anyone, or encourage others to
- send spam or unwanted messages, including mass direct messages or repeated pings
- share content that's illegal, or that breaks Discord's terms or guidelines
- collect or store other people's personal information without a lawful reason
- get around limits, cooldowns, permissions, blocks or Premium features, for example by using several accounts or servers
- automate the service in ways it isn't meant to be used, or overload it
- copy, take apart or reverse engineer the service, except as the law allows
- pretend to be Wattle Bot, Wattle Cloud or Discord
Found a security problem? Tell us at [email protected] before sharing it with anyone else, and give us a reasonable time to fix it. Don't access other people's data, and don't disrupt the service while testing.
5.Your content
You own what you create with Wattle Bot, such as custom commands, embeds, welcome messages and announcements (“your content”). These terms don't give us ownership of any of it.
You give us permission to store, copy and display your content, and to send it to Discord, only as needed to run the service for you. This permission ends when your content is deleted.
You're responsible for your content: that you have the right to use it and that it follows these terms.
6.Availability and changes to the service
We provide the service with due care and skill.
We work to keep Wattle Bot running, but we can't promise it will always be available, fast or free of errors. Discord outages and changes can also affect it. We don't offer a service level agreement (SLA).
We keep improving Wattle Bot and may add, change or remove features. If we remove a feature you pay for, the Premium section explains what happens.
7.Blocking and removal
We may block a person or a server from using Wattle Bot, or remove it from a server, if:
- these terms are broken, seriously or repeatedly
- we need to, to follow the law, a court order or a direction from a regulator or from Discord
- it's needed to protect the service, other users or the public, for example from spam or an attack
Where we reasonably can, we'll explain why. You can ask us to review a decision by writing to [email protected].
9.Intellectual property and trademarks
We own the service, including Wattle Bot's software, the dashboard, this website and our brand. These terms give you the right to use the service as they allow, and nothing more.
If you send us feedback or ideas, we can use them without owing you anything.
Trademarks
Wattle Bot is not affiliated with or endorsed by Discord Inc. Discord and the Discord logo are trademarks of Discord Inc.
Twitch, YouTube and Reddit are trademarks of their respective owners. Wattle Bot is not affiliated with or endorsed by them.
10.Your rights under consumer law
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or changes a right or remedy you have under a law that can't be excluded, including the Australian Consumer Law and the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Australia
Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with the service, you are entitled to cancel your service contract with us and to a refund for the unused portion, or to compensation for its reduced value. You are also entitled to be compensated for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. If the failure does not amount to a major failure, you are entitled to have problems with the service rectified in a reasonable time and, if this is not done, to cancel your contract and obtain a refund for the unused portion of the contract.
United Kingdom
If you're a consumer in the UK and you pay for the service, the law requires us to provide it with reasonable care and skill, and as we've described it. If we don't, you can ask us to put things right or, if we can't, get some or all of your money back. For advice about your rights, contact Citizens Advice.
11.Our liability
This section limits our liability. It doesn't limit anything the law doesn't allow us to limit, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or under the consumer guarantees in the Australian Consumer Law except as allowed below.
- We're responsible for loss or damage you suffer that's a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use due care and skill. We're not responsible for loss that isn't foreseeable.
- We're not responsible for actions Wattle Bot takes because of how a server has set it up or what its moderators ask it to do, or for content other people post.
- If you use the service for business, we're not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost profits, revenue or goodwill, and our total liability for all claims in any 12-month period is limited to what you paid us for the service in that period.
Events outside anyone's control
Neither of us is responsible for a delay or failure caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as outages at Discord, widespread internet or power outages, natural disasters or actions of governments, as long as we take reasonable steps to limit the effect. This doesn't affect your rights under consumer law.
12.Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when we add features or the law changes.
If a change could disadvantage you, we'll announce it in our Discord server (discord.gg/wattlecloud) and on this page at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you don't agree with it, you can stop using the service and remove Wattle Bot from your server before then.
Other changes take effect when we publish them, such as clarifications, changes that benefit you, and changes needed to deal with new kinds of abuse or security threats.
13.Complaints and disputes
If something goes wrong, please tell us first at [email protected] or in our support server, and we'll try to sort it out.
These terms are governed by the law of Queensland, Australia, and the courts of Queensland can hear disputes about them. If you're a consumer who lives in the UK, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you can bring proceedings in your local courts.
