Reading and replying

The basics: seeing channels and posting in them.

  • Manage Messages

Remove messages caught by auto-mod and clear messages in bulk.

  • Timeout Members

Time out members when a moderator or an auto-mod rule asks it to.

Roles and channels

For role menus, rewards, tickets and temporary voice channels.

Voice

For music, text to speech and temporary voice channels.

After you add it

Three things to check.

  1. 1

    Move its role up

In Server Settings, open Roles and drag Wattle Bot above the roles you want it to give, take or moderate. Discord only lets a bot manage roles below its own.

  2. 2

    Set it up

Open the dashboard and turn on the modules you want, or run /setup in Discord for a quick checklist.

  3. 3

    Check its channels

Make sure Wattle Bot can see and post in the channels you pick for logs, welcome messages and alerts.

FAQ

Questions

What permissions does Wattle Bot need?

Only the ones its features use, and never Administrator. The Add to Discord page lists every permission and why it's needed. You can untick any of them on Discord's screen; the features that need them just won't work.

What's the difference between adding it to a server and to my account?

Added to a server, Wattle Bot can moderate, welcome people, play music and everything else on the features page. Added to your account, a handful of personal commands, like /remind and /avatar, work for you anywhere on Discord, even in servers that don't have Wattle Bot.

Why can't Wattle Bot give or take a role?

Discord only lets a bot manage roles that sit below its own role. In Server Settings, open Roles and drag the Wattle Bot role above the roles you want it to manage.
